Simple Blondies

Are you a fan of blonde brownies?  I am!  These chewy bars have the texture of brownies, but taste more like a buttery, chewy cookie than a chocolatey brownie.  This recipe for Simple Blondies is a great one to have on hand.  It takes about 30 minutes to go from, “Let’s make something” to actually taking it out of the oven!  And chances are, all of the ingredients are in your kitchen.

Here is what you’ll need… Flour, brown sugar, an egg, milk, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt.  That’s it!

In a saucepan or a microwaveable bowl, melt the butter.

Mix in the brown sugar, vanilla, and milk.

Once those are combined, add the egg and mix well.

Add the flour, baking powder, and salt and mix it all up until combined.

Pour into a greased 8″x8″ pan, and bake until golden brown.  You can check for doneness with a toothpick.

Now all you need to do is let them cool enough before digging in!
