Looking for a way to mix up your regular cereal treats? There are so many possibilities for cereal treats, such as one of my favorites, peanut butter! I found this recipe for a twist on these traditional treats on Pinterest, and thought it looked like a way to make them even more exciting than usual. It would be super easy to make this fit the season with some festive sprinkles, too! Who doesn’t love these kid-friendly squares?!
Start by melting the butter in a small saucepan.
After it’s melted, add the marshmallows and give it a good stir. You’ll want to keep stirring to help the marshmallows melt.
Once the marshmallows have melted, mix in the dry cake mix a little at a time, mixing well between each addition.
Once all of the cake mix has been added, you’re ready to mix it into the cereal.
Add some sprinkles in to the batter at this point if you like!
Spray your pan with some cooking spray to help keep the treats from sticking to the pan. Then, take a piece of waxed paper and use it to mush the cereal into a nice, even sheet.
Add some more sprinkles and press them into the treats lightly with the waxed paper. Let the treats sit for a little while to cool and harden slightly. Then, cut into squares and let the party begin!
