Another dip, you say?  Absolutely!  If you’re serving up some yummy guacamole, the perfect accompanying dip is homemade salsa!  This is so simple to throw together, and can be adapted to your tastes.  We love cilantro, so there’s a big handful in ours.  Like it hot?  Toss in another jalapeno.  Have fun experimenting to make this recipe yours!  After you’ve made your own salsa, it’s tough to go back to store-bought.

Restaurant-Style Salsa

You can’t get much easier than this.  In the time it takes you to read this post, you could have made several batches!  The best thing about this salsa?  Not only does it taste great (and you know exactly what is in it!), it’s pretty economical too.  I calculated that this recipe costs me about $2 to make.  It’s tough to find a good jar of salsa at that price!

What You Need

As I mentioned before, this recipe is perfect for experimentation.  I like to taste it after it’s almost pulsed to perfection, and check the flavors.  I also recommend that you start with one jalapeno (leave the seeds and the ribs for heat), and work your way up.  Jalapenos can vary so much in their heat, that sometimes one can have the power of two!  Definitely blend it up and taste it before adding another.

Ready to Blend

Serve it up at your next fiesta with some tortilla chips, and maybe some tacos, too!
