My sister, Rachele, spent two years in the Dominican Republic with the Peace Corp. She did lots of amazing things while she was there, and learned a few things too. Our favorite thing that she learned? How to make amazing guacamole!
Guacamole is fairly simple to make. All you really need is a cutting board, a knife, a fork, and a bowl. Chop up everything and put it in a bowl. Pour on the lime juice and sprinkle with spices and seasoning. You should plan to adjust the salt depending on the chips you will use with the dip: salty chips = less salt in the dip (and vice versa).
My sister never really uses a recipe to make her guacamole. She always starts with “a little of this and a little of that” and tastes it often. After you’ve made it a few times, you’ll know just how much of each ingredient to add to make it perfect for your tastes.
Mash it all together with a fork, and you’re done. It is one of the most simple, delicious dips you will ever make!
