I am so excited to share my brand new kitchen with you all! I wish I could have had the pictures up sooner, but I’m sure you all know what a big chore it is to move your entire life in to a new house. Getting everything just in its place is quite a task!
Here are some pictures of the new home of EHC. Many thanks to my wonderful husband who took them for me last night! I love this kitchen!
The kitchen is open to the dining and living rooms. The island will have stools eventually, so the kids can eat breakfast there. All of the floors are concrete with radiant heat. Efficient!
As you can see, there is clearly room for more cookbooks on the shelves on the island!
Along the north wall is where I have our glassware and china. There’s also a wine fridge and a built-in microwave. The cabinet underneath the microwave is sized to one day house a second oven.
Along the east wall is my new gas range. I have always had electric appliances, so there has been a bit of a learning curve! I’ve only set off the smoke alarms three times (so far) đ
Along the south wall is what my husband calls my “baking center”, as the cabinets house my baking essentials, and the counter hosts my KitchenAid Mixer. I am loving the french door refrigerator… It is HUGE! I still haven’t quite managed to fill it with food yet.
And lastly is my island! The sink is enormous, and perfect for washing large dishes. The dishwasher is just to the left of the sink. All of the counter tops are concrete. My husband poured them himself, and if I do say so, he did an amazing job. They are beautiful and so durable!
And, if you spied that cardboard box lurking in the corner of the last pic, I have to admit that it’s not the only one we still have laying around. We are slowly but surely getting settled in our new home. I hope to have some great posts for you in the near future. “Baking Season” is just about upon us, and I must confess that it’s one of my favorite times of year! Expect many a holiday cookie & goody recipe in the next few months!
O wow! I cannot describe how jealous I am of your kitchen. It is FAB! I love the concrete countertops, and the bookshelves on the island. The space for a second oven is a great idea; I dream of a second oven, though a proper ‘first’ oven would be a start! lol! Many hours of happy cooking! đ
Wow…looks amazing! Makes even me want to cook! đ Have you ever considered doing a cheesecake post? I would love to learn how to make a delicious, relatively easy cheesecake!
I have posted one already: Caramel Brownie Cheesecake. I do have a good recipe for just plain ol’ New York-style cheesecake, as well as a good one for Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cheesecake. Will have to make one of those soon! The good (and bad!) thing about this blog is, we eat the food that I make, so that keeps me from making rich desserts a lot! đ
Yeah – the NY Style is what I need! Also, while I’m putting in requests :), I was wondering what you might call must-have gadgets for the kitchen. Now that I’ve started cooking, I’ve noticed some things I have and don’t have, and some are probably needs and others wants, but as a novice, I really don’t know! If you already have a post like that I’d love to read it – if not, I’d like to see one some day when you have time!
